BofA charged with ‘duping’ shareholders

FT.com Bank of America and its former top executives were on Thursday facing civil charges over allegedly misleading their shareholders about losses at Merrill Lynch and misleading the government in order to get $20bn in Tarp funds. Ken Lewis, former Bank of America chief executive, and Joe Price, the bank’s former chief financial officer, are named in the charges by Andrew Cuomo, the attorney-general of New York.
